Baking with the addition of flaxseed flour. Dietary chocolate muffins made from flaxseed flour. Flaxseed porridge recipe

Hi all!

Lately I've been thinking about what to eat to lose weight.

I'm not the only one like this, am I?

I want health, slimness and beauty, but I don’t want to torture myself because of this and chew cabbage, even cauliflower, all day long.

I am for food to be tasty, varied and healthy for the body.

Therefore, we are constantly looking for ingredients from which we can prepare the right dishes.

One of the latest discoveries is flaxseed flour, which is obtained after grinding and defatting.

From this article you will learn:

Flaxseed flour - benefits and harm

Flaxseed flour is a product of grinding flax seed cake.

The benefits of flaxseed flour become obvious as soon as you know its composition.

It is rich in proteins of plant origin, vital vitamins (A, E, B1, B2, B6, folic acid) and minerals (potassium, magnesium, zinc, copper, chromium, sodium, selenium), and fatty acids.

What are the benefits of flaxseed flour?

But flour owes its reputation as one of the healthiest foods to three main components: omega-3, lignans and fiber.

And the absence of gluten - wheat protein or gluten, which causes intolerance in many people and is a provocateur of many diseases. (You can read more about gluten in this one.)

Let's take a closer look at the main beneficial properties of these components:

  • Omega-3

Omega-3 is a polyunsaturated fatty acid that is a “good” fat and is not produced by our bodies.

It is necessary to eat more foods that contain it, because Omega-3 normalizes heart function, helps cope with diabetes and asthma, improves skin condition, and lowers blood cholesterol levels.

Flaxseed contains many times more of this fatty acid than any other plant product.

  • Lignans

As for lignans of plant origin, these are phytoestrogens and antioxidants that have antiallergic and antitumor effects.

  • Cellulose

And dietary fiber (fiber), soluble and insoluble, normalizes the functioning of the digestive system and helps cleanse the body.

Thanks to this unique composition, flax seed flour is effective for:

  • cleansing the body of waste and toxins
  • normalization of weight and functioning of the gastrointestinal tract (useful for people suffering from constipation, gastritis and peptic ulcers of the stomach or duodenum)
  • preventing the growth and reproduction of cancer cells
  • strengthening the walls of blood vessels and preventing thrombosis

Ways to use flax seed flour

In general, this composition ensures the successful use of flaxseed flour not only in cooking, but also in cosmetology, treatment and prevention of various heart diseases, eating disorders, and is used for weight loss and intestinal cleansing.

It would be nice if the government obliged its residents to take flaxseed meal every day, as King Charles did in the eighth century, issuing a special royal decree to this effect☺

There are so many ways to use flaxseed flour that at first I was confused.

I selected the options that had the most good reviews, some I’ve already made, some I still have to prepare and try.

In general, I’m sharing. And if you have your own know-how, I will be very glad to see them in the comments.☺

Flaxseed flour for medicinal purposes

In fact, we can say that any use of flaxseed flour gives a healing effect, it has such a beneficial effect on a variety of body systems.

But when treating specific diseases, you should consult a doctor so that there is no overdose or any negative effect.

As a rule, flour is used as an additional natural remedy in the treatment of coronary heart diseases, diabetes, colitis, cystitis, dysbacteriosis and allergic reactions.

In such cases, one tablespoon of flour is mixed with a glass of kefir or other fermented milk product without additives and drunk for two to three months at night or in the morning.

You can also use water, but it’s not clear how to drink such a mess, except perhaps as a bite, but there’s little pleasure from it.

Flaxseed flour for face

Flaxseed flour is great for making face masks. It has a lifting effect, tightens the skin and tones it, making it elastic and velvety.

In addition, flaxseed flour can be included in scrubs and oriental ubtans.

It helps cleanse pores of impurities, improves blood circulation and evens out complexion.

Flaxseed flour for weight loss and colon cleansing

There are two main methods for these purposes.

The first option is to drink a glass of kefir with a tablespoon of flour instead of dinner for three months.

Some sources suggest adding more honey, but to me this would defeat the purpose.

This is based not only on stabilizing intestinal function and regular bowel movements, but also on activating metabolism and reducing the overall calorie content of the diet.

This option did not suit me purely psychologically.

Well, I can’t live without a normal dinner, I won’t fall asleep hungry, and I’ll walk around angry all evening.

Flaxseed flour with kefir

But the second method turned out to be more suitable.

  1. The body is cleansed for three weeks, followed by a maintenance regime for two months.
  2. Week one: kefir and a teaspoon of flour instead of breakfast.
  3. In the second week we add two spoons, in the third - three.
  4. Then we use flour as an additional ingredient for a light breakfast; it can be mixed with kefir, yogurt, omelette, or added to porridge with water.

My review of flaxseed flour for weight loss

This option is especially convenient for those who rush headlong to work or school in the morning.

There is no satiety, especially in the first weeks, but there is a feeling of lightness and a weight loss effect. Smooth weight loss, normalization of stool, absence of hunger.

I’m still in the middle of the journey, but I’m already minus 4 kilograms and I feel much better.

By the way, such a healthy undertaking also influences my love for midnight snacks; it’s already a little embarrassing to overeat in front of my body☺

Recipes with flaxseed flour

To be honest, I did not appreciate dishes made from flaxseed flour in its pure form, I mean porridge and jelly.

Maybe I just cooked it wrong, and can someone tell me how to make them tastier?

Flaxseed porridge recipe

Flaxseed porridge is actually flour mixed with warm water or milk, with honey, jam or berries added to taste .

Flaxseed jelly recipe

Preparing jelly is also very simple: add 3-4 tablespoons of flour, a little honey, maybe orange zest to heated water (one liter), bring to a boil and cool.

I have no doubt about the benefits, the enveloping properties of these dishes are especially good, but the taste is very specific, I did not dare to cook it again.

Where can you add flaxseed meal?

For me, the biggest advantage of flaxseed flour is that you can cook a huge number of dishes with it, adding it in different proportions and most importantly, it does not contain gluten!!!.

In small quantities, it will be invisible to your family, who probably don’t like to “chew grass,” but it will bring a lot of benefits.

A little in salads, cereals, omelettes, vegetable dishes and smoothies; as a breading for fish and meat; in homemade sauces.

Baking with flaxseed flour

But my hit is baking, which I won’t give up even for the sake of losing weight. You can completely replace regular flour with flaxseed flour in the recipe.

This, of course, will greatly affect the taste, so I usually limit myself to replacing a third.

At the same time, the amount of carbohydrates is noticeably reduced, which makes baked goods less high in calories and more healthy.

But now I make two dishes only with this flour; I will give their recipes in full.

Flaxseed flour pancakes - recipe

Mix a glass of milk with four tablespoons of flour, add egg white, a teaspoon of sugar and a little cinnamon.

Let the dough sit a little and fry in a dry frying pan.

They set quickly, the taste and color, of course, are very different from traditional pancakes, but don’t let that scare you, it turns out delicious.

The yield is small, enough for a snack for two adults.

I like to serve with honey and low-calorie sour cream (I mix them) or maple syrup (not a diet option).

Oatmeal - flax cookies with nuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • ½ cup flaxseed meal
  • ½ cup rolled oats (not instant oats)
  • 1-1.5 cups of additional ingredients: flax seeds, chopped nuts, dried cranberries, raisins.

Preparation

Beat together soft butter, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, salt, baking soda, egg. Mix flour, oatmeal, nuts and additives.

Combine everything together and keep at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Place on a baking sheet: use a spoon to form a ball and then press down to form a cookie.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, bake for 10-12 minutes and cool thoroughly.

Then place in the refrigerator.

The results are very satisfying, healthy, and tasty cookies.

It is not very sweet, if there is not enough sweetness, you can add more sugar.

I also offer you a good video about the beneficial properties of flaxseed flour, be sure to watch it, you will learn a lot of new things!

Where to buy flaxseed flour

I buy this good organic flaxseed meal. Here. A pack weighing 450 grams can cost you about 250 rubles.

It has an amazing nutty taste.

Two tablespoons added to hot or cold porridge, pancakes or waffles, or when baking bread, muffins and quick breads will provide you with amazing nutritional benefits.

I have never seen better flaxseed flour than this.

Well, it turned out to be long-winded, but flaxseed meal is worth it

Can flaxseed flour be harmful?

Its potential harm is associated with an increase in estrogenic activity, which is more necessary for women, but does not apply to men.

But to do this, flour needs to be added to every dish, which is unrealistic in everyday life.

1. Break four eggs into a deep bowl.

2. Beat them lightly with a whisk.

3. Add a piece of butter, a couple of tablespoons of sour cream and a tablespoon of honey to the eggs. Mix.

4. Add flaxseed flour and knead the dough. Although it is recommended to use flaxseed flour along with regular white flour, I took a chance and used only it without diluting it. But you can dilute 1:1.

5. Add enough flour to get approximately the same mass as in the photo. The dough is not too stiff, but not liquid either.

6. With wet hands, form flaxseed cookies and immediately place them on a baking sheet.

7. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Watch, as soon as a brown crust appears, the cookies are ready, take them out.

Flaxseed cookies are soft and tasty. I baked them with honey, but if desired, honey can be replaced with sugar.

Bon appetit!

Flaxseed Cookies

Crispy, tasty and very healthy cookies made from whole grain flour and flax seeds. Some call it “dietary” or “fitness cookie” for its composition without a mountain of sugar and butter (as is often the case in confectionery products).

These are essentially flax crackers, as the cookies are very thin and crispy.

The default recipe is not very sweet, but if you wish, you can add sugar, honey, fructose, etc.

Ingredients:

  • Regular wheat flour – 80 g.
  • Whole grain flour – 70 g.
  • Baking powder – 0.5 teaspoon;
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon;
  • Salt – 2 pinches;

  • Milk (can be soy) – 60 ml.
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. spoons;

  1. Dissolve salt and sugar in milk. Add oil.
  2. Combine 2 types of flour with baking powder and flax seeds.
  3. Pour the flour into the milk and thoroughly knead the dense dough.

This is what the dough should look like. It seems to wrinkle, but at the same time it is dense like plasticine.

Place the dough on the table. For convenience, rub the table with flour or cover it with baking parchment (or a silicone mat). Let's start rolling out the dough.

Roll out into a thin layer, 2-3 millimeters thick.

Using a glass or some special mold, squeeze out the cookies.

Place the pieces on a baking sheet and carefully pierce each one several times with a fork.

Place in an oven preheated to 160-170 degrees for 8-10 minutes. These crackers bake very quickly, so don’t miss a moment!

Place seeds, sesame seeds, flax, and raisins in a cup with the apple mixture. Mix thoroughly.

Beat one egg white until fluffy white foam. We use a mixer, the protein should be chilled.

Add the protein cream to the cereal and mix until smooth.

Place in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

Everyone knows about the health benefits of flax, about omega 3, etc. But here it is worth paying attention to a couple of points.

  • Pay attention to the condition of the flaxseeds. They must be clean, dry, without rancid taste or smell.
  • Take flaxseed flour that is well refined so that it contains as little oil as possible. Yes, flaxseed oil is very healthy and is a leader in omega 3 fatty acids.
