Avocado sandwiches. Making delicious sandwiches with avocado paste Sandwiches with avocado and garlic

For sandwiches it is good not only for every day, but also for the holiday table. It is also suitable for those who adhere to the principles of proper nutrition - it can be spread on toast and eaten during snacks. Avocado is also called alligator pear, but these two fruits have nothing in common except for their external similarity. Avocado has a soft, creamy taste that goes well with salt and spices.

How to choose an avocado?

Avocado paste will work well if you use good ripe fruits. This fruit is considered exotic, so it often arrives on store shelves unripe or overripe.

There are several criteria for choosing quality avocado fruits:

  1. The peel should be dark green. Only the California variety can have black fruits; otherwise, they are unsuitable for consumption. It is better to take unripe fruits with light skin and wait a few days until they ripen.
  2. If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of the bone tapping. This will mean that the avocado is ripe.
  3. If you press on the fruit, a small elastic dent will remain on it, which will quickly smooth out.

Some avocado lovers grow these plants at home. The process is long and painstaking, but you can be sure of the quality and freshness of the fruit.

Pasta with garlic and cheese

There are a huge number of recipes for avocado paste for sandwiches. The most convenient way to prepare them is in a blender ─ just peel, coarsely chop all the ingredients and press the button. If you don’t have it, you will have to use a grater, fork and other available tools.

For a classic avocado, garlic, and cheese sandwich recipe, you will need these 3 ingredients, plus lemon juice, salt, and sour cream (optional). You can choose the proportions to your taste, but for 1 large avocado you will need at least 150 g of cheese. It is better to choose soft cheese with a sharp, piquant taste; processed cheese is also suitable.

Cooking process:

You don't have to use garlic for this everyday avocado pasta recipe. In addition, you can supplement the paste with other ingredients. If you add chopped boiled egg to it, the dish will turn from a snack into a full meal due to its high protein content. Festive toasts can be additionally decorated with herbs, nuts, pomegranate seeds or shrimp.

Pasta for sandwiches with sprats

The recipe for avocado paste for sandwiches with sprats will be slightly different. In this case, the bland taste of these fruits is an advantage, since it will not contrast with the strong fishy taste and smell. In addition, high-calorie foods (cheese, eggs) are not added to this pasta, since fish itself is a complete dish.

For 1 can of sprat and 1 large avocado you will need 4 slices of bread, juice of 1 lemon, 1 tomato and 1 clove of garlic (optional):

Sandwiches with avocado and sprats are just one example of combining pasta with other products. Instead of sprat, you can take red fish or shrimp, pieces of omelette and any other ingredients.

If you put a fresh tomato on your avocado toast, the snack will be lighter and won't leave you feeling heavy in your stomach.

For those on a diet

Diet breakfast with avocado ─ it's quick and easy. Many people mistakenly believe that low-calorie food for weight loss should be bland and unattractive, while delicious food will definitely add extra pounds. Indeed, you should not add many ingredients prohibited in proper nutrition (mayonnaise, fatty sour cream) to dietary avocado paste, and you should use bread or crackers instead of bread.

For a dietary breakfast you will need 2 breads or several crackers, 1 ripe avocado, 2 eggs, lemon juice, low-fat yogurt, salt and lettuce to taste:

Fried pieces of bread have a richer taste, but they are fattier and harmful to the liver. An alternative is to bake the toast in the oven until crispy.

Breakfast should be nutritious to provide energy for the whole day. However, you should not get carried away with fatty and fried foods ─ they are not valuable for energy metabolism, but are quickly stored in the form of extra pounds. Avocado is a fruit with high nutritional value, so it can serve as a separate dish in itself. It can be consumed on a diet, but it should not be combined with other high-calorie foods. A cracker and a boiled egg with avocado pulp will be enough to get the necessary energy.

Avocado sandwiches from Gordon Ramsay

What can you add to avocado paste?

By itself, it has a rather bland taste, so it is not eaten as a separate dish. Its consistency is thick and viscous, so it serves as a forming agent in avocado paste for sandwiches. The main taste of the dish is given by the remaining components: it can be seafood, red fish, vegetables, cheese or spices. The paste turns out thick and satisfying, so it is better not to apply it to white yeast bread. It will go well with black or gray varieties of bread, as well as diet bread. As a snack, you can prepare pita or omelette rolls, which are coated with avocado paste and wrapped.

Video recipe for avocado paste

- This is always a great way to have a snack, because they are prepared quickly and quite simply. I propose to prepare delicious and satisfying sandwiches with avocado and tomatoes, which are suitable not only for a snack during the day or a light breakfast, but also for any holiday table. Avocados have a delicate texture, a subtle creamy flavor, and a buttery texture that makes avocado an excellent sandwich spread. The main condition is that we use only ripe and soft-to-touch fruit to prepare the paste. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to find an avocado of the required maturity on store shelves, then we buy an unripe one and let it sit at home at room temperature for 2-3 days, this is enough for the avocado to ripen and be completely ready for consumption. I had a small size, enough pasta to make four sandwiches. If you have a large fruit, then it is quite possible to prepare from 6 to 8 pieces. I used toast bread with bran, but it can be easily replaced with any white or gray bread.

Ingredients:

  • avocado – 1 piece.
  • lemon juice – 1 tbsp. spoon.
  • garlic – 2-3 cloves.
  • olive oil – 1 tbsp. spoon.
  • tomatoes - 1 piece.
  • salt - to taste.
  • ground black pepper - to taste.
  • dried basil - to taste.
  • greens - to taste.
  • vegetable oil – in fact.
  • bread - in fact.
  • Number of servings: 4.

Preparation:

I prefer to fry the bread in a small amount of vegetable oil; the bread turns out crispy and, in my opinion, the resulting sandwiches have a richer and more interesting taste. Fry the bread on one side only. If you wish, you can also dry the bread in a dry frying pan or use a toaster.

Wash the tomato and cut into slices.

Let's start preparing the pasta. Wash the ripe and soft avocado and cut it into two halves.

Remove the skin with a knife and remove the pit.

Cut the avocado into small pieces and place in a deep plate. To prevent the flesh from darkening, sprinkle the fruit with lemon juice.

Mash the avocado with a fork until smooth. If the fruit is ripe and soft, then this will not be difficult to do.

Avocado has an almost neutral taste and goes great with spices. Add garlic to taste, salt, ground pepper, dried basil and a spoonful of olive oil to the pulp.

Mix everything until smooth. The pasta is ready.

Place the bread with the fried side up.

Spread with paste, adjust the amount to taste.

Place tomato slices on top.

Sprinkle the tomatoes with salt and sprinkle with fresh herbs. It is advisable to prepare sandwiches before serving so that the bread is crispy and appetizing.

Such sandwiches are also suitable for supporters of proper nutrition and will undoubtedly appeal to those who want to diversify their menu. The snack is not only healthy and nutritious, but also very tasty.

Bon appetit!!!

Best regards, Oksana Chaban.

When you want to have a delicious, satisfying breakfast, and at the same time not spend a lot of time preparing it, avocado sandwiches will come to the rescue. This fruit is no longer exotic for Slavic cuisine, and canapés with it are much healthier than the usual sandwiches with butter and sausage.

This dish is good for both an ordinary snack and a festive feast. Guests will eat it first and with great pleasure: avocado harmonizes wonderfully with red fish, for example, salmon.

What ingredients will be needed?

  • Bread – 600 grams. Best suited for this purpose baguette, loaf or light airy bread. This also applies to many other recipes;4
  • lightly salted salmon - also take 600 grams;
  • avocado - the same volume;
  • processed cream cheese - 200 grams is enough;
  • butter – 100 grams is enough;
  • lemon.

Cut the loaf (or baguette) diagonally. You should get thin oval slices.

Grease each oval on one side with soft butter. Do not make the oil layer thick.

Now you can put everything on a dish and keep it in the microwave for half a minute at full power. Or dry it briefly in a hot oven. However, doing without “heat treatment” altogether is also a good option.

Squeeze citrus juice into a blender bowl, add cream cheese and avocado pulp. We turn on the device to get a kind of paste.

Spread the paste on each slice, covering the butter with it. Place the salmon on top, cutting it into neat thin slices ahead of time.

Decorate sandwiches with red fish and avocado with olives or lemon slices. Breakfast is ready!

These canapés will wonderfully complement an elegant buffet table. It is very pleasant to savor white wine or champagne with them.

Cooking with garlic

If you don't have to rush to work or school right after breakfast, enjoy sandwiches with avocado and garlic.

They need products:

  • toaster bread - take 10 slices;
  • avocado – at least 400 grams;
  • lemon juice - about 20 grams is enough;
  • garlic - three cloves;
  • salt – a pinch is enough;
  • olive oil - limit yourself to 60 ml.

Lightly fry the bread in oil in a frying pan. You can dry the slices in the oven, but then you need to spray them thoroughly with oil first.

Place the finished portions on napkins - let the excess fat leave and the bread cool.

At this time we are working on avocados. We clean and remove the stones. The resulting pulp can be processed in two ways if desired - mash with a fork or grind with a blender.

Add garlic (passed through a garlic press), citrus juice and salt to the pulp. And mix again. Now you can spread the mixture on toast.

Such sandwiches can act not only as a main dish, but also as a “foundation” for other bases. If, for example, you put pieces of bacon, herring or sprats on top, you get a new taste.

With added cheese

Cheese sandwiches are nothing new to us. They become unusual if you combine cheese with avocado.

We will prepare a snack from:

  • cheese (take Ricotta) - 200 grams;
  • ripe avocado pulp - the same volume;
  • mayonnaise - 100 grams is enough;
  • garlic - at least a couple of cloves;
  • wine vinegar – 20 grams is enough;
  • nut kernels (whatever you like and find in the kitchen) or seeds, or sesame seeds - 50 grams;
  • bread (this time you need rye) - at least 300 grams;
  • spices – whichever ones you prefer;
  • vegetable oil (refined sunflower, or even better olive);
  • greenery, lemon slices - for decoration.

Let's tackle the bread first. Divide it into slices, season each with spices and sprinkle with vegetable oil. The toast needs to be dry. Anything is suitable for this – a frying pan, an oven, a toaster.

Place all the ingredients in a blender – cheese, avocado pulp, garlic, seeds (or nuts). We turn on the device and achieve the state of a kind of cream, season with mayonnaise, season with salt and seasonings. Let's not forget about vinegar.

Cover each rye toast with the resulting mixture with avocado and cheese. Garnish with lemon slices and herbs.

Chicken and avocado sandwiches

Avocado tartines combined with smoked chicken will make a delicious snack and lift your spirits.

What will you need to prepare them?

  • smoked chicken meat - take 200 grams;
  • arugula - a handful;
  • tomatoes – half the fruit is enough;
  • mayonnaise;
  • mustard (French is generally ideal);
  • bread - four slices.

First, let's take on the bread. Cover two toasts with mayonnaise, grease the remaining ones with mustard.

Wash and dry the arugula so that the water does not drain.

Place a “pillow” of arugula on top of the mayonnaise. The chicken goes to the top (we divided the meat into thin slices in advance). Equally thin tomato slices are placed on the meat. There are pieces of avocado on them.

All that remains is to “build” the sandwiches, covering this splendor with bread and mustard. Naturally, with a mustard layer inside.

Poached egg recipe

For this type of canapé, eggs are prepared in a special way: carefully, so as not to damage the yolk, break them into boiling water, after a couple of minutes you get something like a flower with a yellow center and a lace of white petals. Let's try to make these tartines with avocado and egg.

You will need the following set of products:

  • bread - take six slices;
  • lettuce leaves - the same amount;
  • avocado pulp – at least 300 grams;
  • lemon juice - at least a couple of teaspoons;
  • yogurt (but only unsweetened) - 20 grams is enough;
  • salt and ground black pepper - use your discretion.

Process the avocado pulp in a blender. Then add citrus juice and yogurt to it. All that remains is to turn it all into a fluffy mass - using the same blender.

I really liked these sandwiches. Or just avocado with salt (when you're in a hurry)

Cut the buns in half.

Cut the lettuce leaves into strips, radish and cucumber into slices.

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, then peel off the skin. Make a puree from the pulp, add curry, stir.

Spread the bun halves with avocado puree, place lettuce strips on top, then radish and cucumber slices.

When serving, decorate the sandwiches with herbs.

More about avocados (from the internet) a lot of beech trees!

You need to eat avocado!
For what beneficial properties is this fruit so respected by nutritionists, although they do not miss the opportunity to remind you of the extremely high calorie content of the avocado: 245 kcal per 100 grams?

Moreover, 26-30 percent of an avocado's weight comes from fat. For people who care about their figure, this information is simply killer. But don’t worry too much, there is good news for you: avocado fat contains no more than 20 percent saturated fat, and the rest is “good” fat. 1.5-1.7 g of proteins for every 100 grams of weight, a whole bunch of vitamins (A, B, C, D, E, K, P), a good content of potassium salts, calcium, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium - all this is very attractive.

There are even suggestions in the literature by some experts that avocados can replace all food for a person, which is, of course, nonsense, clearly paid for by the manufacturers. A compromise between healthfulness and calorie content is the recommendation to consume about a quarter of a medium avocado per day. At least up to half. Be that as it may, avocados are also used in the diet of Russian cosmonauts.

Avocado grows very beautifully, on trees up to fifteen meters high, with a wide crown. Moreover, the avocado tree grows to such height surprisingly quickly. Inside the fruit there is a large, heavy seed, which a person trying an avocado for the first time is very curious to turn in his hands. And only then does the thought come that you also have to pay for the meaningless bone (by weight). But everything pays off with a magnificent, refined, slightly nutty taste, a delicious buttery texture and a unique yellow-green color. If you don't know, don't say, "I can't stand avocados." Say: “I haven’t appreciated him yet.”

Avocado belongs to the laurel family, and this impressively sized plant originated from Central and South America, where avocado has about the same importance as meat in non-avocado countries. In terms of calories, an avocado is, indeed, approximately twice as high as lean meat (fats are fats).

And now, in order, details about the nutritional value of avocado per 100 g of pulp:
carbohydrates - according to various sources, from 1.5 to 6 g
fiber - 1.8 g
calcium - 10 mg
iron - 0.6 mg
potassium - 340 mg
retinol (vitamin A) - 300 IU (international units)
thiamine (vitamin B1) - 0.1 mg
riboflavin (vitamin B2) - 0.15 mg
niacin (nicotinic acid) - 1.4 mg
ascorbic acid (vitamin C) - 16 mg
vitamin E - 2.5 mg
cholesterol - 0 mg

The chemical composition is like that of a vegetable, but it grows on a tree like a real fruit. Thanks to its generous chemical composition and the absence of unsaturated fats, avocado is considered useful for reducing cholesterol levels in the body (up to half an avocado per day, but regularly!), and to alleviate hypertension.

The avocado fruit is not contraindicated for diabetes, but we must not forget about the total calorie content of the diet. Avocado is also recommended for gastritis with low acidity. For anemic conditions, avocado is a very useful product.

But if you have liver and gallbladder diseases, you shouldn’t eat avocado because of its high fat content.

On the other hand, according to Japanese researchers who studied the effect of eating twenty-two types of fruits on the liver, avocado best protects the liver from toxins and in this sense can be used as a preventive and protective agent for the liver. Ruthless Japanese scientists (what else can you expect from the descendants of valiant samurai?) injected the unfortunate experimental rats with the strong poison galactosamine, and then looked at which types of fruits would cause the least liver damage when fed. Avocado turned out to be beyond competition.

Now all that remains is to prove the similar effect of avocado in relation to humans, and it will be possible to begin the production of an antitoxic extract from avocado. Just try not to fall into the clutches of advanced Japanese science for such experiments.

The same, and perhaps other, Japanese scientists considered the folic acid content in avocados to be sufficient to reduce the risk of congenital anomalies in an unborn child, so avocado will not harm during pregnancy. What they based their conclusions on and who they experimented on remains to be seen. So it’s better for Russian pregnant women to eat historically proven apples and white cabbage for now.

In folk medicine, there is a recipe that stimulates the cleansing (laxative) activity of the intestines: make a puree from the pulp of two avocados, three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of lemon juice. Spread on a slice of rye bread and eat. The effect inevitably occurs within a couple of hours. But, of course, if vinegar or lemon juice is contraindicated for you, you will have to use some other laxative (for example, proven and harmless herring with milk).

Avocado oil has a high penetrating ability into the skin, so it is widely used in cosmetics and pharmacology as a good alternative to lanolin. You can also experience the beneficial effects of a mask of fresh avocado with olive oil 2:1 or 3:1. But this is not the only option.

You can try, a few hours before bedtime, thoroughly grind an avocado with fresh apricot pulp, and add literally a drop of olive oil. Apply to the skin for 45 minutes, then rinse, and before going to bed, carefully spread all areas of the skin that have been under the mask with a mixture of sour cream and lemon juice. The avocado-apricot mask should be done every other day, and sour cream and lemon juice should be applied daily, or rather, every night.

A cosmetic mask made from one ripe avocado, one teaspoon of lemon juice and the raw white of one egg is also good. Then, after 20 minutes, remove the mixture with a swab containing cool kefir.

A good mask is made from half an avocado, one teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Pass through a mixer and apply to your face for the same 20 minutes. All these compounds soften and revitalize the skin and smooth out wrinkles. But keep in mind that avocado masks are intended for dry skin.

For psoriasis (God save us all from this scourge!) to relieve itching, it is recommended to eat half an avocado daily as a good addition to drug treatment and necessary medical procedures.

A ready-to-eat avocado is a fairly soft fruit, with a pit that can easily be separated with a rotational movement (if, of course, you first cut the “grenade” in half). It is not difficult to separate the pulp of a ripe avocado from the skin by “scooping” it out of half the fruit with a spoon or carefully peeling it with a knife. A sufficient degree of softness means that all the beneficial substances of the product have already matured within it and are now at your disposal.

But if you buy an avocado “on the cheap” and it’s completely falling apart in your hands, you can’t vouch for a positive health effect. Any product that has exceeded its permissible shelf life turns from useful to harmful. Or even very harmful.

And now the recipes. After all, if, following the example of the lyrical hero created by Viktor Shenderovich, you taste an avocado in its original form, “without anything,” you may experience some disappointment. You need to prepare avocados for food in conjunction with other products, as well as with a sense of aesthetic pleasure and love for your family. Just eating avocado (due to its high fat content) for an adult is like drinking vegetable oil from a glass or eating butter with a spoon (although many children really like it).

Avocado sandwich.
Spread avocado pulp on bread, add salt and pepper. All. In general, avocado can be used instead of butter in sandwiches, sandwiches, and canapés. Try putting avocado or an avocado-mayonnaise mixture, or an avocado-garlic mixture and a little vegetable oil on bread, and top it with cheese or ham and garnish with herbs.

Perhaps most readers, after these simple, like all ingenious, sandwiches, will not look for more complex uses for avocado, but we will still give a few more easy recipes in case you don’t want to eat a lot of bread.

Avocado with lemon.
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, sprinkle the resulting avocado “plate” with lemon juice, salt, sprinkle with black pepper and eat with a teaspoon.

Avocado salad with tomatoes.
Cut two avocados and four tomatoes into 2x2 cm cubes, cut two medium onions into thin strips (you’ll have to be patient), add salt and season with olive oil as you wish.

Avocado salad with mayonnaise. (a quick recipe, although if you remove the eggs and use lean mayonnaise....)
Mash two or three ripe avocados with a fork, sprinkle with lemon juice, add two hard-boiled eggs mashed with a fork or grated, two or three tablespoons of mayonnaise, salt, ground black pepper, and a little crushed garlic. Mix. Sprinkle with dill. This salad has several variations. You can, in particular, omit the garlic at all or replace it with finely chopped green onions. But the original option, in my opinion, is the best.

Avocado with cottage cheese (soy is possible) and celery.
This recipe just begs to be included in a book about healthy eating. You will need: one stalk of celery, one slice of canned or fresh pineapple, one tablespoon of finely chopped green onions, 100 g of regular cottage cheese from a “Russian” store, salt, ground black pepper and, of course, one or two avocados.
Finely chop the celery and pineapple, mix with all the other ingredients and stuff the avocado halves with this mixture. You can do without pineapple, but then the dish loses its “zest” and takes on an everyday taste.

In cookbooks there is also an avocado stuffed with a mixture of marinated salmon and cucumber, an avocado stuffed with a mixture of chicken and ginger, an avocado stuffed with shrimp and topped with Thousand Island sauce (something like mayonnaise mixed with ketchup), an avocado with a mixture of meat crab and apple, avocado with lobster...

These exotic delights are listed just to spark your culinary ingenuity. But what everyone likes is the sauces.

Mexican sauce "Guacamole".
Do you remember where avocados come from? From Mexico of course! Mix in a mixer or thoroughly crush with a fork the pulp of two ripe avocados, one pre-chopped tomato, two cloves of crushed garlic, half a medium onion (it is advisable to grate it on a fine grater if you do not have a mixer), the juice of one lemon, salt and chili sauce. taste. You can add any other spices you like. This sauce goes well with meat; chips or pieces of bread are also enjoyed in it.

Spicy pea puree with avocado.
For four servings, boil 175 g of frozen peas in boiling water for two to three minutes, drain the water, rinse the peas under cold water and let them cool completely. Then make a coarse puree from peas and the pulp of one ripe avocado, add a few green onions, finely chopped, two tablespoons of lemon juice, one clove of crushed garlic, one pod of red hot pepper, seeded and finely chopped, two tablespoons finely chopped cilantro, salt to taste.
Mix all this well.
Serve with chips, crackers, tortilla chips, or toasted garlic bread.

Perhaps the best way to use avocado is to replace boiled potatoes in the traditional Olivier salad with ripe avocado, cut into pieces or mashed with a fork. In this case, the amount of mayonnaise must be reduced.
It's even better to replace only half of the potatoes. The result is a completely new, very tasty dish.

Ground meat from one green sweet pepper and one red sweet pepper (crushed, but not completely into dust), the pulp of two avocados, 3/4 cup of carefully chopped ham and the same volume of mayonnaise, one teaspoon of ketchup and three tablespoons of finely chopped green olives.
Mix everything and stuff the avocado halves with this minced meat.
This festive dish should be decorated with as much imagination as possible.
Your guests will love both the design and what's underneath.

Salad with avocado, feta cheese, pine nuts fried in olive oil, tomatoes, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, blue onions, lettuce, lemon juice. No oil is added to this salad, since the dressing is avocado pulp and lemon juice.

Minced small shrimp, avocado pulp and mayonnaise for delicious sandwiches. This is a brilliant recipe. This is where we will conclude our essay about the magnificent avocado.

For cooking we need to use ripe avocado fruit. It should be quite soft when pressed. Only in this case can you prepare today's appetizer. If the avocado is hard, it’s okay. It is enough to leave it in a warm place for several days and the fruit will ripen. Yes, you will need to wait a little while preparing it, since you won’t be able to cook anything good with a hard fruit.

Wash the avocado with warm water and make a cut around the pit with a sharp knife. Scroll the halves and they will easily separate from each other.

Using a spoon, scrape the pulp into a plate.

Using a fork, puree the avocado pieces.

Now you can use a blender, but I was cooking for myself and for a small portion it is not practical to use a blender. A fork may well replace it, especially since not everyone has additional helpers in the kitchen. This means that even they can prepare such pasta.

Break the processed cheese into pieces. It should be soft with a creamy taste. I wrote what you can replace it with above in the list of ingredients.

Test the cheese for salt. If it's salty enough. Then you may not need to add additional salt. Lightly pepper it.

Using a fork, mash the cheese with green puree.

Now for a light citrus aroma, grate a little lemon zest. Stir until smooth.

Cut the bread into portions. Spread them with avocado sandwich spread.

Now we add sourness, which will highlight the creamy and nutty taste of the spread - sun-dried tomatoes. They smell like basil and just a little garlic. Together, all these products will play in a wonderful ensemble. Now you can try. Will you like it? It's hard to believe that anyone would refuse to try.
