Technology for installing a fence made of corrugated sheets. We build a fence from corrugated sheets with our own hands - instructions, drawings, video. Advantages of corrugated fences

In order to fence off a suburban area or a house within the city, a fence made of corrugated sheets is a popular option: a wide selection of material colors, speed of construction, reliability, and durability of such a structure are the main reasons why owners prefer it.

A fence made from corrugated sheets with your own hands is easy to install even for a person without special construction skills, but it is still necessary to gain certain knowledge about the material and the features of working with it.

A fence made from corrugated sheets can have a beautiful and presentable appearance. The possibility of using sheets with different colors of protective coating made of polymers, a variety of architectural forms of fencing, allows you to make a fence made of corrugated sheets a real decoration of the site.

Fence made of corrugated sheets

In addition to fences constructed entirely from metal sheets, the material can be used as inserts in brick, concrete, wood and metal structures. Fences made of corrugated sheets decorated with forged inserts look especially organic and beautiful.

Features of choosing material for fencing

Profiled sheets are available in several versions: wall, load-bearing and roofing. For fencing, it is recommended to use a wall sheet with a thickness of 0.3 to 0.7 mm. The corrugated sheet of the wave structure has sufficient strength and is able to withstand large wind and mechanical loads and impacts, which allows the construction of buildings of sufficiently high height from it.

Often, fences made of corrugated sheets reach 2.5-3 meters or more; when choosing a material, it is necessary to take into account wind loads in a particular area and, if you plan to build a tall structure, then the sheet must have a greater metal thickness.

Wave height: to build a fence from corrugated sheets with your own hands, it is recommended to choose material marked from C8 to C21. The letter designation indicates the type of sheet - wall, and the digital designation indicates the wave height.

Profiled sheeting C21 for fences, walls and pitched roofs

The length of the corrugated sheet can be from 1.5 to 3 m, the production of this product is carried out from rolled steel and sheets of any size can be made to order. The width of the sheets has limitations and varies from 980 to 1850 mm; the higher the wave, the narrower the sheet; when calculating, you will have to take into account the necessary overlap, which reduces the useful width by 30-100 mm.

Advantages of a fence made of corrugated sheets

  • durability, service life exceeds 20 years, but can reach 50 years; galvanized metal with a polymer colored coating is used for production.;
  • all construction work is carried out without the use of special equipment;
  • the construction of the fence takes place in the shortest possible time;
  • during operation, no special care or painting is required; it is enough to periodically clean it from dirt and dust with water from a watering hose;
  • such a fence provides reliable protection from the outside world, including street noise and dust.

Cost of profiled sheet

The cost of corrugated sheets starts from 200 rubles per square meter; you should not purchase the cheapest option (its service life will be minimal): it must be taken into account that this structure should last several decades.

Site marking and start of construction

Before you start building a fence from corrugated sheets with your own hands, you will need to complete the required amount of work on the site. The territory is marked, which is recommended to start from the entrance group (gates and wickets). Places for installing columns are designated, to which the enclosing structure will subsequently be attached. The length of the spans with which we build a fence from corrugated sheets should be from 2-2.5 to 3 m; we must take into account the height and windage of the future structure and make adjustments depending on these parameters.

Scheme of a fence made of corrugated sheets

Marking is best done using wooden pegs, a measuring ruler or tape measure and a cord. The stakes are installed in the corners of the area and a cord is stretched between them. The remaining points are marked along the cord at an equal distance from each other.

Fence diagram and site marking

The site for future construction must be cleared of various types of debris and leveled; if the site has differences in height, take into account its lowering and the installation of columns must be done deeper by this amount - this will ultimately allow you to get a structure whose upper level is at the same height. You can build a fence from corrugated sheets in a cascade - in this case, adjacent sections are located at different levels, but the height of the fence is the same throughout.

Materials for fencing, calculations

Knowing the height, length, and width of the fence on the site, you need to calculate the number of required sheets. Please note that 3-10 cm from each sheet of sheet will be used for overlap.

Calculation of materials for a fence made of corrugated sheets

The construction of the posts is a metal square pipe 40×60 or 60×60 mm and with a wall thickness of 1-3 mm. You will need 80x80 pipes for the goalposts and/or wicket. Their length is calculated from the height of the fence plus 0.8-1.5 m for the foundation. The last parameter is determined taking into account the characteristics of the soil on the site: loose soil requires a deeper foundation than, for example, clay soil.

Installation of fence posts made of corrugated sheets

The installation of fences made of corrugated sheets is carried out on horizontal crossbars; it is necessary to prepare the material for them as well. You can purchase the same pipes as for posts or smaller sizes 20×20, 20×40 mm with a metal thickness of up to 2.5 mm. On average, two units are required per section; if the fence exceeds 2.5-3 meters, then it is recommended to install an additional one - a medium one.

Fence pipes made of corrugated sheets

You will need fasteners for sheets - special roofing screws with a rubber gasket measuring 5.5 × 20 mm and at the rate of 14 units per 1 m2.

Materials for foundation construction

To construct a foundation for metal columns, you will need gravel or crushed stone for a cushion, as well as cement and sand for making mortar.

In addition to installing metal pipes, you can also use wooden beams, asbestos-cement pipes, and make brick columns. To make a fence made of corrugated sheets more solid, another technique is used: first, a post made of a metal pipe is installed, and then it is lined with decorative facing bricks.

Installation of a fence foundation made of corrugated sheets

We choose the type of fence: at ground level or above level. The second option may have an additional element - a low base, cladding or brickwork. This method is more time-consuming and financially expensive, but has undeniable advantages. The plinth creates protection for the lower part of the fence, contributing to its durability, and leaves no gap for stray or wild animals to enter the area, which can easily get through if the sheets are simply raised above the ground by 10-20 cm.

Tool for the job

To build a fence from corrugated sheets with your own hands, you will need to stock up on the necessary tools to complete the work.

To mark the site and excavation work you will need:

  • a hand drill or shovel for preparing wells for posts and developing a trench;
  • cord or rope;
  • measuring ruler or tape measure;
  • building level;
  • sheet materials for formwork.
  • To attach the corrugated sheet to the fence, you will need roofing screws with rubber gaskets or rivets. You will need a screwdriver and a special device for installing rivets. To install the logs, you may need a welding machine; you can make a fence from corrugated sheets without welding - using a drill you need to prepare the holes and make the connection with screws.

    Foundation for pillars

    Foundation for pillars

    Columns are installed for the foundation, and for fences with a plinth, a strip base is recommended. You can combine two types of foundation: for supports - columnar, and for the base - strip.

    To install the posts, you need to drill small holes using a hand auger or dig with a shovel. The depth can vary from 80 cm on heavy dense soils and up to 1.5 m on loose or loose soils. It is recommended to make waterproofing from roofing felt at the bottom of the pit; this is especially necessary if the groundwater level is high. We need to make a gravel bed and install posts.

    Checking the level of the columns among themselves, adjusting their height by placing stones, gravel and other materials. First, sand is poured and filled with water, compacted, after which concreting with cement-sand mortar is required. This method of constructing a foundation provides stability to the columns and reduces their susceptibility to heaving forces during soil thawing.

    In the case of constructing a base for the construction of a fence made of corrugated sheets on loose and loose soils, it is necessary to make formwork, for which you can use boards, sheets of plywood and other available materials.

    Installation of posts

    Metal poles are installed in the corners of the site and elements of the future gates are mounted. A rope thread is stretched to create a level, and the remaining intermediate posts are installed in pre-prepared holes. They should go approximately 1/3 of the height into the ground.

    When installing posts, you need to use a plumb line to prevent them from falling over, and a building level; check the height of the posts.

    To protect yourself from stray animals entering the area, you can make a concrete side with a small (no more than 20 cm) recess. A small trench is prepared between adjacent pillars and once the formwork is made and installed, concrete is poured. In this case, before installing a fence made of corrugated sheets, no time is required for the concrete to gain strength; the element being erected is not load-bearing - its hardening is sufficient.

    Strip foundation

    A trench with a width of at least 20 cm is prepared along the perimeter of the future fence. The depth is determined by the characteristics of the soil and the choice of material for the manufacture of posts and the base part. If you plan to pour a monolithic concrete strip with subsequent cladding with decorative materials, then a fence made of corrugated sheets can be placed on a shallow foundation. On average, the laying level can vary from 0.4 to 1.5 m, depending on the weight of the structure and the geological conditions of the site.

    When the trench is ready, it is necessary to install a sand and gravel cushion; if the groundwater level is high, waterproofing will be required. A layer of roofing material or geotextile fabric is laid.

    We install the formwork and frame. Reinforcement with a thickness of 12-16 mm is used. We pour concrete.

    Covering metal pillars with brickwork or stone.

    Laying brick pillars

    A simple but effective way is brickwork or stone cladding. Along with the installation of metal pillars, formwork is prepared for the foundation of the masonry.

    If you plan to use facing stone, then the formwork should be installed up to the top of the columns.

    Rules for installing a log fence made of corrugated sheets

    Usually erected fences do not exceed 2-2.5 meters. For such structures, it is enough to install two crossbars, but if the fence is planned to be made higher and from heavier material, then the installation of a third and sometimes a fourth element may be required.

    The lower and upper crossbars are installed approximately at a height of 20-30 cm from the ground and, accordingly, from the upper edge. If the height of the fence is 2 m, the distance between the logs will be about 1.5 m, with 2.5 m - slightly less than 2 m, which is quite enough for the structure to be able to withstand any mechanical and wind loads.

    The logs must be positioned strictly perpendicular to the pillars and parallel to each other. Immediately after attaching the crossbars, they must be treated with primers and applied with paint intended for exterior metal work.

    Fastening the logs using a welding machine and bolted connections

    Fastening is carried out using a welding machine, welding the log to a metal post. Welding areas must be primed and painted with anti-corrosion compounds. If a fence is installed without welding, the logs should be secured with bolts. Using a drill and a metal drill of the appropriate size, holes are prepared in the post and crossbars, and then tightened with bolts and nuts.

    This method is in no way inferior in reliability and strength to the welding method.

    It is necessary to treat the joints, since the exposed metal will begin to corrode under the influence of adverse weather conditions.

    Attaching sheets to joists. Particular attention should be paid to installing the first sheet; it must be secured perfectly evenly. Each subsequent profiled sheet is attached with an overlap on the previous one. After installing each subsequent element, it is recommended to check their installation accuracy and, if necessary, adjust the fastening by adding additional washers.

    To fasten profiled sheets, special roofing screws with a rubber gasket are used. The sheets should be fastened at the bottom of the wave, at a distance of 20-30 cm from each other. It is better to choose screw caps that match the color of the sheet covering. It is also possible to fasten sheets using rivets; you will need a special apparatus for their installation (riveter).

    Protection of metal from corrosion, safety precautions

    You can make a profiled sheet yourself using metal scissors: the material is thin and easy to cut. All cutting areas will need to be protected: painted or special covers installed. It is recommended to cover metal posts with inserts or other decorative elements.

    Special construction gloves will protect your fingers from cuts; be careful, the edges of the cut corrugated sheet are very sharp.

The main advantages of a fence made of corrugated sheets are relative cheapness compared to other building materials for fencing, durability provided there are no mechanical damages, and ease of installation. Corrugated sheeting is a corrugated steel sheet with a protective layer, it provides noise and dust insulation, it is fireproof, and combines well with other materials.

A fence made of corrugated sheets, properly installed with your own hands, will last for ten years. The service life of some types of fence reaches 25-35 years, depending on the aggressiveness of the environment (sea wind, ammonia precipitation from the enterprise, etc.). You can make the height of the fence different, apply different patterns on it, imitating brickwork, stone, wood and others.

Corrugated sheeting for fence

When looking for a suitable corrugated fence, you will find that the difference between them lies in the covering material. The following types of metal profile coating are distinguished:

  • Polymer coating. Increases the level of protection of corrugated sheets and can be painted at the production stage.
  • Plastisol. It features a thicker coating layer, which provides protection not only from aggressive environments, but also from mechanical damage. This protective material provides greater durability.

It should be noted that the profiled sheets also differ in thickness. Metal profiles with increased thickness are used in load-bearing structures, and for a fence, a profiled sheet with a minimum thickness is suitable (rib height is about 21 mm, metal thickness is up to 0.5 mm).

While following all the tips listed above, do not forget about the appearance of the fence. You can choose a monotonous color or different patterns.

Construction of a fence made of profiled sheets

To install a fence made of profiled sheet metal poles are used (economical option), or a brick column goes around the pipe (expensive option). The pillars are installed with the same distance (after removing the length of the fence and dividing it into equal sections) or, for example, into sections of 2.5 meters, and one section will be obtained “in fact”.

The pillars are concreted, the concrete is allowed to gain strength (depending on weather conditions), and transverse logs (metal square or rectangular pipes) are installed by welding them to the main vertical pillars.

The last step is the installation of the profiled sheet on the transverse joists using rivets or roofing screws.

General scheme for constructing a simple fence made of corrugated sheets

All installation work can be divided into several stages, which we will consider below.

  • Marking the fence line.

The immediate first stage of work is marking and transferring data onto a sheet of paper. Calculate the number of segments (spans) following a simple rule for installing a fence made of corrugated sheets - the distance between vertical posts ranges from 2.5 to 3 meters. It is very convenient to “mark” future supports using wooden pegs or pieces of reinforcement.

  • Concreting metal pillars.

The height of the pillars depends on the planned height of the fence. For fences of a standard height of 2 m, use a concreting depth of 100-110 cm below the soil surface; for higher fences, accordingly, we increase the concreting depth, and for low fences, we lower it.

Having dug a hole. it is necessary to start knitting a skeleton from reinforcement under concrete (will increase the durability of concrete). Next, we prepare the concrete - 1 part cement to 3 parts sand and 4-5 parts crushed stone or slag, water. We fill holes with supports with concrete, having first checked them with a building level on all sides and fixed them so that they do not move during pouring, although specialists always double-check metal pillars with a building level after pouring.

Depending on weather conditions, concrete needs to gain strength within three days (in hot weather, moisten the concrete with water every day, this will give additional strength, and in rain and cold weather, this period must be increased by 1-2 days).

  • Installation of transverse joists.

The next step is the installation of transverse square or rectangular pipes. This is done using a welding machine by “welding” transverse joists to vertical posts. For a two-meter fence, use two transverse logs. Welding areas should be coated with primer paint to provide protection against corrosion.

  • Fastening profiled sheets.

The final stage of fence installation is attaching the corrugated sheets. The sheets are installed with an “overlap” on the adjacent sheet in one wave. They are attached to the transverse joists using roofing screws. It is also necessary to leave a small gap at the bottom of the sheet - from 5 to 10 cm, in order to allow snow and rainfall not to accumulate and to allow the wind to blow through.

Necessary materials for the fence

Before installing the fence itself, it is necessary to calculate all the necessary materials. The most important material is a profiled metal sheet that fills the main area of the fence.

Specialists in installing a fence from corrugated sheets recommend using a sheet with C18 or C21 coding.
Next, you should stock up on metal poles for vertical installation. These can be square pipes 60*60 or 40*40 mm, or round pipes with the same diameters.

You will also need metal transverse joists (rectangular pipes measuring 40*20 mm) to provide basic rigidity and strength. Profiled sheets will be installed on them.

During installation work, you will need to use the following tools:

  • Shovel and crowbar - for earthworks.
  • Grinder with cutting disc - for cutting fittings and pipes.
  • Concrete mixer, buckets – preparing and pouring concrete.
  • Brushes – for painting metal pipes.
  • Drill or screwdriver - for attaching a profiled sheet to transverse metal joists.

You will also need a construction level, a roll of rope or twine (for marking), a tape measure, a pencil, gloves and various consumables (cutting discs, electrodes, etc.).

Preparing metal for installation

The durability of paint and varnish coatings applied to a metal surface depends on the correct preliminary preparation of the metal surface for painting. The service life directly depends on the condition of the metal before painting. Therefore, if metal pipes are lying in a warehouse and are covered with a small layer of corrosion, it is necessary to remove it.

There are two types of metal preparation for painting:

  1. Primary preparation. This preparation is carried out to remove scale, dirt and rust until bare steel remains.
  2. Secondary preparation. Surface preparation leaving organic and metal coatings firmly bonded.

After these preparation steps, it is necessary to degrease (white alcohol, gasoline or acetone) the metal surface to be painted, then apply a primer layer. After the primer coat of paint has dried, apply one or more layers, depending on the aggressiveness of the environment.

After installing the vertical posts and metal cross beams, it is necessary to knock off all the scale and slag from the welding machine, and paint the welding areas in one or more layers.

The procedure for installing supports (pillars)

After all the metal supports are prepared (cut and painted), you need to begin their installation. Let's describe this process step by step:

  • Marking the territory. We divide it into segments, insert pegs and pull the tourniquet.
  • Digging holes. Using a shovel and crowbar or with a hand (electric) drill.
  • Concrete cushion. We fill the bottom of the hole with a cushion of sand and crushed stone, then compact it.
  • Pole installation. We install the support and align it with a level and plumb line.
  • Pouring concrete. We pour the concrete solution and fix the post level using boards and auxiliary material.

We accurately install corrugated fence posts, as they ensure the strength and durability of the entire structure. There is no need to rush at this stage, because it is better to spend a little more time now than to fix or even completely redo the fence in a few years.

Installation of metal transverse joists (lintels)

The installation of jumpers is carried out using bolted connections or clamps (a relatively old method) or using a welding machine, which is currently one of the most reliable and fastest methods.

Experts in installing fences of this type recommend attaching the logs at a height of 25-30 cm from the surface of the foundation or ground, and at the same distance from the intended top of the fence. This ensures optimal structural strength.

Advice. If you make fence spans 3 m long, then with a length of transverse logs of 6 m there will be a minimum amount of remnants of the metal tube, since the length of the logs will be enough for just two spans.

Installation of profiled sheets on the skeleton of the structure

After completing the main labor-intensive work, all that remains is to attach the profiled sheet. The easiest way is to fix the sheets to the transverse joists using self-drilling screws (roofing screws). Thanks to the special tip of the self-tapping screw, it drills a threaded hole using a drill or screwdriver.

When screwing in self-tapping screws, it is important to remember:

  • A loose self-tapping screw will subsequently cause leakage with a trace of corrosion.
  • A tightly twisted self-tapping screw causes deformation of the profile sheet.
  • A screw screwed in crookedly violates the integrity of the metal and creates a loose fit of the gasket, which causes corrosion.

A correctly screwed self-tapping screw is considered to be screwed in at an angle of 90 degrees with pressure that does not allow overtightening or deformation. Screw screws into every third wave.

Prices for corrugated fences with installation

The cost of a fence made from a profiled sheet depends on the thickness of the metal, the presence of a colored polymer coating on one or both sides, the length and height of the fence. Also, the price depends on the method of concreting and the foundation under the fence, the presence of additional elements in the structure (gate, gates, brick pillars, etc.).

Here are some of the approximate prices for various types of fences made of corrugated sheets (at a height of 2 m with local concreting of vertical pipes):

  • A fence made of galvanized corrugated sheets costs about 1,400 rubles per 1 linear meter.
  • A fence made of profiled sheets with a polymer coating on one side - from 1,600 rubles per 1 linear meter.
  • A fence made of profiled sheets with polymer coating on both sides - from 1800 rubles per 1 linear meter.

In addition to installing the fence itself, you need to take care of the entrances and entrances to the territory. Prices for some additional installations of related work:

  • A gate made of corrugated sheets (width up to 100 cm) with handles, a lock and a latch - about 5,000 rubles (manufacturing and installation).
  • Swing gates (from 3-4 meters) with latches and hinges – 10,000 rubles.
  • Brick pillars of one and a half bricks - 8,000 rubles/pillar.

Despite the fact that you can install the fence yourself, it will take a lot of effort and time, so it is often more profitable to order the installation of the fence from professionals.

As a rule, such fences consist of sections and exist in two types: fences with supports made of metal pipes or brick columns. The profiled sheets on them can be located in one case at a short distance from the ground, and in another - rest on a foundation or a brick side connecting the fence posts.

The first option is more economical, as it involves the use of fewer materials and simplified installation. Another type of fence allows you to make it more respectable, but requires more materials and labor effort.

The use of profiled sheets in metal fencing of a site is quite justified, as it has a number of advantages:

  • The fence installation process does not cause technological problems;
  • The profiled sheet is quite durable;
  • If such a fence is installed correctly and then maintained, it will stand for a very long time;
  • The appearance of the corrugated board fencing is quite modern.
The low price of materials for such a fence makes it affordable for most land owners. And thanks to the wide range of colors and variety of shapes of profiled sheets, fencing made from them fits perfectly with many design solutions.

Corrugated fence installation technology

The entire production process of installing a corrugated fence can be divided into several stages. Let's look at them in order.

Preparatory work before installing the fence

Before purchasing basic materials, you need to prepare tools and equipment for work. You will need a building level, a concrete mixer, a welding machine, pegs and a cord for marking the territory, an electric drill with drills, and 2.5 mm electrodes. You should also organize a water supply to the concrete work site.

It is not recommended to build any fence without a diagram or drawing. To compile any of these documents, markup data is required. It should begin with determining and measuring the perimeter of the site. To do this, you need to hammer pegs in its corners and connect them by pulling a cord between them. Using a tape measure, you need to determine the length of the future fence and the required number of its supports, which are located in increments of 2-3 m, depending on the length of the sheets. The location of each pillar must be marked with a peg.

In addition, you need to determine the dimensions of the foundation, the width of the entrance gate and entrance gate. The width of the base, in order to save costs on excavation and concrete work, can be made unequal. Then under the supports it is made to their size, and under the sheets it is narrower. The dimensions of the gate depend on its purpose. All marking data must be transferred to the diagram to calculate the required amount of materials.

If it is not planned to cover the supports with bricks, then a powerful foundation for a lightweight fence structure will not be required. In this case, a hole 15 cm wide and 1.5 m deep is dug under each rack. You can use a hand drill. The depth of immersion of the supports into the ground depends on the height of the fence. The higher you plan to make the fence, the deeper you need to dig its supports.

A heavy fence with brick posts will require a more massive foundation. To prepare it, you need shovels, a supply of polypropylene bags for removing excess soil, and time.

A trench, for example, with a volume of 4 m 3 is dug by a pair of workers within 4-5 hours with smoke breaks. Its depth for the foundation depends on the level of soil freezing in a certain region, on average - 1-1.5 m.

The most important thing in this type of work is sampling the soil to the required depth. The level of the foundation, its immobility and the normal functioning of the entrance gate depend on it.

Selection of materials for corrugated fence

The main material of the fence is corrugated sheet. It is made from durable zinc coated steel. All sheets have a ribbed shape, as well as markings A or C followed by numbers from 8 to 35, which indicate the wave height of the product in millimeters. For example, C10 corrugated sheeting, used for fences, has a wave height of 10 mm. The larger it is, the stiffer the profiled sheet. In regions with strong winds, it is recommended to use C20 corrugated sheeting for fencing.

The thickness of the profiled sheets should be selected depending on the height of the fence. If it is, for example, up to 3 meters, the optimal value will be 0.5 mm. For a higher fence, sheets of 0.6 mm are suitable.

When purchasing, you should pay attention to the flooring coating. Powder coating is more durable. Sheets must be double-sided. Their outer side has a brighter color. The inside has gray corrugated sheeting.

To make a fence from corrugated sheets, in addition to steel sheets, you will additionally need:

  1. Pipes and bricks for supports. Steel pipes are taken of rectangular or round cross-section 60x60 mm with a wall thickness of 3 mm and a length of 3 m. The bricks used are silicate, clay or facing. To lay columns from it you will need mortar.
  2. Lags. These are transverse fencing elements designed to securely connect the supports into a single frame. In addition, they serve as a basis for fastening profiled sheets. The material for the crossbars will be steel pipes of rectangular section 40x25 mm with a wall thickness of 2 mm and a length of 6 m.
  3. Fasteners. It is needed for installation of fencing sheets. These are roofing screws or metal rivets measuring 3.2x10 mm.
  4. Concrete M200 for installation of fence posts. If you plan to prepare it yourself, you will need cement, crushed stone and sand.
It is not at all necessary to choose metal pipes as posts for a fence made of corrugated sheets. You can install wooden or asbestos-cement pillars. Before installation, wooden supports should be treated with a blowtorch flame and then with a bitumen-based primer.

Pouring the foundation for the fence

Assembling formwork is an extremely responsible undertaking. The fact is that after pouring concrete, the defects in the formwork cannot be corrected. Therefore, in addition to a half-edged board, a drill and screws, you will definitely need wooden lintels and brick supports for additional fastening of the entire structure.

The assembly of formwork panels is carried out in a trench and begins with the top board, which marks the level of the foundation. Its upper part should be 10 cm above the surface of the ground to avoid the accumulation of dirt on it during rains.

The foundation is reinforced using a three-dimensional frame made of metal rods with a diameter of 10 mm. In the frame, horizontal reinforcement is represented by two lower and two upper reinforcement bars. Vertical reinforcement - four short jumpers connecting horizontal rods at equal intervals of 1.5 m. The reinforcement is connected with knitting wire.

After installing the frame, pipes or powerful corners are lowered into the formwork to strengthen future brick columns. Installation of these elements is carried out using a plumb line and a building level. Then they are fixed in it with short boards. After securing the formwork with lintels and supports, concrete can be poured into it.

When installing a corrugated fence, the concrete is prepared manually or using a concrete mixer. The composition of the mixture used is as follows: cement - 1 part, crushed stone - 6 parts, sand - 3 parts, water - 0.7 parts, concrete additives (liquid household soap) - 0.1% of the amount of cement.

Mixing 100 liters of concrete by hand takes 30-40 minutes. After concreting, it is advisable to cover the formwork with film to prevent the top layer of coating from drying out, and it can be removed after a week if the weather is warm.

A massive strip foundation under brick columns is poured in the usual way. If the racks are not planned to be lined with stone, the bottom of the recesses under them is filled with a 200 mm layer of crushed stone, then the racks are installed and concreted with a cement mixture.

In order to prevent the soil between them from being washed out over time, the pipes of the supports can be connected instead of a foundation with a buried concrete strip with a total height of 20 cm. To make it, a wooden box is made along the bottom of the metal racks. Its boards are fastened with wire or scraps of timber, and then lined with waterproofing from the inside. After pouring concrete into the box and setting it, the formwork is carefully disassembled. The resulting side will not only serve as protection against soil washout, but also as an obstacle to the penetration of domestic animals under the fence into the territory.

Instructions for installing a fence made of corrugated sheets

The fence frame made of profiled sheets is assembled from a metal pipe with a cross-section of 20x40x2 mm using manual welding. Pieces of profile pipe cut to the required length in a horizontal position are lightly welded to vertical posts in 2-3 rows, the accuracy of installation is checked by the building level. After this, the final welding is carried out. A fence 15 m long takes about 2 hours of welding work.

After completion, anti-corrosion treatment of the frame elements and its welding points is carried out. For this purpose, GF-020 primer is suitable, which can be applied to metal with a brush or spray paint.

For the installation of brick columns, facing bricks are used. Usually, experienced masons are involved in such work, because the quality requires it. When laying bricks, a mortar is used in a cement/sand ratio of 1 to 3 with the addition of a small portion of liquid soap for the plasticity of the mixture. The masonry of the columns is carried out alternately in 1 day to a height of 0.5 m.

The gaps between the masonry and the metal post are filled with mortar while working on the post. Each row of masonry is reinforced with a 50x50x4 mm mesh. To protect the upper end of the column from rain and snow, decorative caps are installed on it. This gives the fence a special expressiveness.

As an option, the racks can be faced not with brick, but with artificial or natural stone. The appearance of the fence will only benefit from this. However, such a procedure will require considerable investment.

Installation of corrugated sheeting is the last stage of fence manufacturing. To avoid damaging the end of the profiled sheet during installation, it is recommended to lay cardboard on the foundation. The products are fixed on the profile pipe through a wave at the base of the corrugation. The connection is made with overlapping screws using an electric drill with an attachment. You can also take rivets, but they must be steel.

Aluminum fasteners can create a galvanic couple between different materials of construction, the appearance of which causes electrochemical corrosion of steel.

Sheets of profiled flooring in the same fence are easily combined, for example, with forging. In order for such a fence to have an attractive appearance, you can use different arrangements of its enclosing elements: the upper, lower part of the structure or the gap between them can be covered with decking.

To maintain a serviceable and attractive condition of a fence made of corrugated sheets, a lot of effort is not required. It is quite enough to periodically clean it from dirt. Any solution containing soap is suitable for this. It is important that the emulsion does not contain solvents: they can damage the coating.

Profiled steel sheet can be used not only as a roofing material. It can be used to make an inexpensive and fairly durable decorative fence.

Types of profiled steel sheet

Corrugated sheeting is a building material that has a profile in the form of a corrugation (wave), made in the shape of a trapezoid. By purpose it is divided into:
roofing (load-bearing): marked with the letter “H”, the most durable material, having significant thickness and high corrugation, is equipped with additional grooves to provide rigidity; used not only for constructing roofs, but also in the construction of hangars and the manufacture of transport containers;
load-bearing wall (“NS”): universal corrugated sheeting, has average rigidity, used both as a roofing and finishing material for finishing facades;
wall (marked “C”): looks very attractive, but has insignificant thickness, therefore it is used mainly for decorative wall decoration;
corrugated sheeting for fences and other types of fencing;
used as formwork.

Marking of corrugated sheets

In labeling corrugated sheeting, the number immediately following the first letter indicates corrugation height(waves). The second block of numbers indicates mounting and general width and height leaf. For example, if for corrugated sheeting 1150/1200 mm a total width of 1200 is indicated through a slash (slash), this means that the difference between these numbers 1200 - 1150 = 50 mm is equal to the overlap width between the sheets. The last one is indicated metal thickness.

The letters included in the markings indicate type of coating this material. There are several types of such coatings:

Galvanized: the thickness of the zinc layer significantly affects the anti-corrosion properties of the material; Products that are too cheap and have a minimal layer of zinc will very quickly become unusable;
coated with aluzinc (an alloy of zinc and aluminum): a more expensive type of coating that significantly increases the service life of the material;
single- or double-sided polymer coatings made of polyester, plastisol, pural or PVDF: they have not only a decorative, but also a protective function; the most inexpensive type of coating is polyester.
In addition to traditional colored coatings, a pattern can be applied to the corrugated sheet using photo offset printing that imitates stone, brick, wood and other natural materials. It can have curly edges or even be made in the form.

Installation procedure

1. Before starting work, tension the fence around the perimeter twine, along which pegs are placed every 2-3 meters - the locations of future pillars.

Marking the fence

2. Metal posts with a cross-section of 60 mm or more are cut to size, thoroughly cleaned of dust and rust and covered with a layer of primers, and are subsequently painted in the required color. Such supports must have the same height, so for marking it is better to stretch a string along the outer support posts (they are installed first).

Layout of metal supports

3. The pillars must be installed strictly horizontally, so during installation you should check their position several times building level.
4. After installing the supports, the prepared pits are filled with sand cushion, then crushed stone is laid, which is poured concrete-cement mixture, made from pure, clay-free sand and cement of a grade not lower than M200. To strengthen the concrete, it is laid inside the pit. reinforcement cage.

Arrangement of reinforcement cage for support pillars

5. To prevent moisture from concrete from seeping into the ground, before pouring it is better to prepare a so-called cylindrical formwork from roofing felt or thin metal sheet. Such a fence will protect the concrete from damage by groundwater.

Important! To increase the service life of the metal and protect it from corrosion, the supporting pipes after concreting are closed from above plugs made of wood or metal.

6. When constructing a fence in wet or too loose soil, a full-fledged one is made for the fence or used instead of ordinary support posts.

Making a strip foundation for a fence

7. It is better to use a strip foundation when constructing a fence with significant differences in soil height. In this case, there will be no special need to level the area.

Fencing on uneven ground

8. Depth of holes for pillars most often it is 1/3 of the height of the fence itself, but not less than 0.7-0.8 m. If the soil freezes strongly, the supports are laid in the ground to a great depth (just below the freezing level). Otherwise, the supports may simply be squeezed out to the surface.

Advice. In order not to accidentally stain corrugated sheets with paint, it is better to paint metal supports before installing the sheets. In this case, the welding areas are carefully primed.

9. Subsequent work is carried out only after complete hardening of concrete. It dries within a few days, but gains strength in a couple of weeks, so in order not to displace the structure, it is better to wait a little longer.

10. To increase the decorative properties of the fence, the supporting pillars can be laid on all sides with brick, stone or decorated with forged elements.

11. After the concrete has hardened, two or three horizontal joists cross section 60×25 mm.

12. The corrugated sheet is attached to the transverse joists using self-tapping screws with rubber pads. To strengthen the structure, the sheets are stacked overlap into 1-2 waves and connect with each other metal rivets. To prevent the fence from shaking at the slightest breath of wind, the fastenings should be tightened as tightly as possible. To install one sheet, at least eight self-tapping screws are used.

13. Lastly, the gate is installed and the locks are cut into place.

Fences made from corrugated sheets are a structure that has no drawbacks!

A fence made of corrugated sheets is a reliable, practical and beautiful structure for any budget. It is appropriate anytime and anywhere, but is most often used to protect summer cottages and country estates.

Construction and installation of corrugated fences

The construction of fences from corrugated sheets is used in summer cottages, industrial facilities, and for fencing cottages. A wide variety of color palettes will allow you to choose corrugated fences to suit your taste. In order to order a fence made of corrugated sheets, you need to contact our company using one of the contact numbers. Now there is such a service as turnkey corrugated fences. A very useful option, since your participation is practically not required here. You come to the office to sign the contract. And then all the work is already carried out on the side of professionals. They come to your site, take the necessary measurements, analyze the soil to understand which support to choose for installing your fence (additional pouring of the concrete base may be required). After which the fencing is installed. You might think that such services are expensive. In fact, no, the cost of the material and the cost of work are available to a wide range of consumers.

Advantages of corrugated sheets:

  • The profiled sheet has a corrugated configuration, making the product as durable as possible. The curved shape of the product significantly reduces the risk of damage.
  • Installation of the fence occurs at a rapid pace, labor costs are relatively small. If necessary, you can just as quickly dismantle the structure made from this material.
  • Fence installation. The material is very light, its transportation does not require serious equipment.
  • The material perfectly protects the fenced area from noise. Sound insulation of corrugated sheeting will ensure absolute comfort of stay in the area surrounded by a fence.
  • There is a great variety of colors that a corrugated fence can be painted in. The choice here is up to the customer.
  • And finally, the prices. Corrugated sheeting will please both budget-conscious and demanding people.
  • Wickets and gates made of corrugated sheets can also be ordered in the color of the fence.

What is corrugated sheeting?

These are large-area but thin steel sheets, which, after the necessary mechanical and anti-corrosion treatment, as well as galvanizing and applying polymer coatings, have acquired rigidity, resistance to any external influences and an attractive appearance.

Fence made of corrugated sheets - choosing a brand.

There are many brands of this material from which you can choose:

  • S-8. The most affordable, but quite durable material that can withstand various physical loads.
  • S-10. A slightly more expensive and stable sheet, excellent for wall coverings;
  • S-21. Possessing approximately the same characteristics as the previous material, it costs slightly more.

As a rule, the most popular among our clients is corrugated sheet with a thickness of 0.45-0.50 mm, with a sheet width of 1150-1200 mm and a height of 2 m.

What are the advantages of corrugated fences?

1. Durability. A profiled sheet with a thickness of 0.5 mm is not afraid of even the most powerful physical blows, and due to the corrugated surface, it can withstand any climatic loads, including storms and hail.

2. Durability. A high-quality fence installed by the specialists of the Zavodzaborov company will protect you and your site for many years, maintaining its original appearance.

3. Availability. Both the corrugated sheeting itself and the ease of installation of the fence that it guarantees allow us to adhere to the minimum prices for this service.

4. Sound absorption. The corrugated metal surface is a reliable barrier to sound waves, which allows the owner of the fence to reduce the level of extraneous noise penetrating into the area from the outside.

5. No holes or gaps. The territory, protected by a fence made of corrugated sheets, completely hides the entire territory of the site not only from prying prying eyes, but also from drafts, dust and dirt.

6. Rich color palette and resistance to fading. Another pleasant addition to the list of advantages of a fence made of corrugated sheets is the ability to choose any color scheme that will not fade under the rays of the sun even after 10 years, and to build an exclusively individual design that meets the requirements of fashion and design.

7. A little more about the benefits. Let's put all the above qualities together to understand that it is a universal structure that has at the same time the attractiveness of a brick fence, the solidity of a concrete one and the economy of a chain-link fence. The absence of weak points and excellent performance on all counts make it in demand in all spheres of human activity, and its neat appearance makes it suitable for fencing any urban or rural areas. A fence made of corrugated sheets will be appropriate in both residential and industrial areas due to its unique ability to easily fit into the environment.

The cost of a fence made of corrugated sheets.

The final cost of installing such a design is influenced by:

  • characteristics of the professional sheet itself that you have chosen;
  • the quality of materials used to create supports and joists;
  • height and length of the fence.

In any case, both the materials and their installation will cost you little, and the fence itself will be solid, solid and presentable. Moreover, you will not need to closely monitor its condition, since in order to return it to its original color, it will be quite enough to sometimes spray the structure with a stream of water from a hose.

Why should a corrugated fence be built by professionals?

Trying to always do everything with your own hands, do not forget that the construction of some objects requires special knowledge, skills and tools from the performer. By incorrectly calculating the supporting structure, you risk getting a fence that will collapse from the first gust of wind, so we suggest you turn to the specialists of the ZavodZaborov company for help.
