Cream for moisturizing the scalp. Dry scalp. Sun and sea water protection cream Swimcap Cream, Philip Kingsley

Crusts on the scalp can be eliminated with proper care. It includes masks of scalp creams extremely rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, necessary for our skin so that it is elastic, does not dry out, does not become irritated, does not peel off and so that crusts do not appear on the skin, cleansing the scalp with the most gentle shampoos And proper nutrition, which will allow the skin to provide the necessary substances from the inside so that it can return to normal.

WHY OUR CREAMS

Most often, mink oil is added to creams in some quantity. The base in our creams is an emulsion of mink oil. Mink oil is very close in composition to human skin and perfectly helps relieve dryness, flaking and irritation of the skin. Mink oil emulsion in itself is an excellent remedy for eliminating crusts and flaking on the scalp. And for people with extremely allergic, sensitive skin, we recommend applying pure mink oil emulsion to the scalp - our children's cream with mink oil. But we also have creams for hair and scalp, in which vegetable oils and healing substances are added to the mink oil emulsion, which have a positive effect on the scalp and also help eliminate dry skin, flaking and crusts.

Hair cream with mink oilIt helps to normalize the condition of the scalp very well. The basis of the cream is an emulsion of mink oil and this emulsion is enriched with camelina oil and D-panthenol.Ryzhikis a plant of the mustard family.The main value of camelina oilconsists of a high content of essential fatty acids: linolenic (from the omega-3 family) and linoleic (from the omega-6 family). These substances are vital for the human body and skin, but they are not synthesized in the human body, therefore they are called “essential”. The human skin and body can only receive these substances through creams and masks, and from the foods we eat.D-panthenol- water-soluble vitamin B. This is a substance that very well restores the skin, nourishes and heals it.

Hair cream with mink oil not only strengthens the hair roots and restores the hair itself, but also perfectly softens, nourishes and restores the scalp, eliminating flaking, crusts and preventing their occurrence.

If you wash your hair in the morning, the cream should be rubbed into the scalp in the evening before bed and washed in the morning. The cream is quickly absorbed into the skin. It will be enough for you to put a light scarf on your head at night so as not to stain your pillow. The cream should be applied to the scalp at least three times a week. Course: 15-20 masks. Cream consumption: approximately 2 bottles of 200 ml.

If you wash your hair in the evening, you need to apply the cream to the scalp 1.5-2 hours before washing.

If you have allergies, extremelysensitivescalp use our baby cream with mink oil. It should be applied in the same way as mink oil hair cream.Pure mink oil emulsion (our children's cream with mink oil) is officially recommended by the Union of Pediatricians and Immunologists of Russia for the care of children's skin with atopic dermatitis. Pure mink oil emulsion is purchased from us for healing skin care for adults suffering from atopic dermatitis and neurodermatitis, as well as those with diathesis. Mink emulsion perfectly moisturizes and softens the skin, softens crusts, relieves itching, and prevents the formation of new crusts and flaking.

ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS FOR ELIMINATING CRUSTS AND PEAKING

According to our observations, people's skin responds differently to oils.

We have a second cream for hair and scalp, in which D-panthenol and black cumin oil are added to the mink oil emulsion. Hair cream with black cumin oil You Same can be used to eliminate dryness, crusts, flaking and irritation on the scalp. It is applied and used in the same way as camelina oil hair cream. Black cumin oil is widely used to soften and heal the skin, eliminate excessive flaking and also to care for the scalp with psoriasis.

Cosmetic mink oil. It should be applied to the scalp for 1-2 hours and then washed. Course: 10-15 masks. Approximate consumption: 1-2 bottles of 100 ml. Try to apply oil not to your hair, but to your scalp and hair roots, as it is more difficult to wash off than cream.

If you have crusts on your scalp, this problem needs to be solved not only by applying scalp effective cream.

The formation of crusts can be directly related to the fact that your body does not have enough vitamin E and essential unsaturated fatty acids, which the skin of the body needs to keep it from drying out, becoming irritated and flaking, and to prevent the skin from forming crusts.

When you apply our Mink Oil Hair Cream to your scalp, you are applying exactly these substances externally.

In order to help your skin, you should start adding cold-pressed unrefined oils to your food (heated to 50 degrees Celsius during production): sunflower oil, walnut oil, pine nut oil, wheat germ oil, flaxseed oil. These oils contain the unsaturated fatty acids the body needs.

It will also be very good if you buy granulated lecithin at the pharmacy and start eating it. Lecithin is needed to prevent the skin from drying out and flaking, and to prevent crusts from forming on the skin. If you don't like the taste, you can dissolve it in any yogurt you like. The membranes of nerve cells in the brain are made from lecithin. It is needed for good hair growth and for the skin to be sufficiently elastic.

The second main reason for the formation of crusts on the scalp is exposure to chemicals on the scalp. Do not use scented, colored shampoos with a high content of surfactants (surfactants) to wash your scalp.

NOTE: If you not only have crusts on your scalp, but also irritation (do not use salt and mustard to wash your hair). First, make a course of masks on the scalp using our baby cream, let the skin recover, and then you can wash your hair with shampoos containing salts and mustard. If you dye your hair, use natural plant dyes. Minimize or eliminate mousses and hairsprays.

Excessively dry scalp requires more careful attention, which implies regular specific care and specific treatment.

Causes of increased dry scalp

There are only two reasons that lead to dry scalp: the cells do not receive enough moisture, the sebaceous glands produce too little oil. But there are enough predisposing factors leading to such disorders:

  • using excessively hot water when washing your hair;
  • metabolic disorders in the body;
  • constant use of a hair dryer, straightener, curling iron when styling hair;
  • improper drinking regime;
  • general ;
  • avitaminosis;
  • internal diseases that provoke general dysfunction of organs and systems;
  • poor nutrition – an imbalance between the consumption of carbohydrates, fats and proteins;
  • prolonged increase in body temperature;
  • period of breastfeeding (lactation).

To accurately determine the cause that led to increased dryness of the scalp, you need to objectively evaluate your own lifestyle. In some cases, when the condition in question is not yet advanced, the health of the scalp can be restored only by correcting some aspects of life. You will also need to learn to differentiate between normal dry hair and the problem at hand - this is the only way to choose an effective treatment.

Symptoms of excessive dry scalp

As a rule, dry scalp can be identified by symptoms - they are characteristic of this condition and have a complex manifestation. Moreover, doctors claim that the presence of only 1-2 signs from the list of symptoms of dry scalp does not mean at all that this particular problem is occurring. But if 3-4 points from the list of symptoms below are present, then we can safely say that dry scalp is indeed present and a complex of treatment is required.

So, dry scalp will have the following symptoms:

Note:The main sign of the condition in question is a simple test: you need to apply a cosmetic napkin to the roots of the scalp hair. If there are no greasy marks left on it, and only dandruff is present, then this confirms the presence of a dry scalp problem.

If most of the above symptoms are present, then urgent measures need to be taken to eliminate the problem. Otherwise, the hair will become intense and the scalp will become covered with scabs, which will lead to serious illnesses. Moreover, you need to do not only treatment, but also carry out complete, regular scalp care.

Rules for caring for dry scalp

Many people believe that scalp care means regularly combing your hair and using some specific cosmetics. In fact, the rules of care are a set of measures:

Most often, eliminating the causes of dry scalp and treatment overlap, which gives excellent results. If the problem in question is in an advanced state, then you need to consult a trichologist who will prescribe professional treatment, or start using medicinal herbs, vegetable oils and to restore the health of the scalp.

General principles for treating dry scalp

A visit to a trichologist is always accompanied by a full examination, then treatment is selected on an individual basis. As a rule, the treatment of the disease in question consists of laser therapy, the use of ozone and - procedures that are aimed at intense and rapid hydration. But even trichologists emphasize that some folk remedies also have an excellent effect - they relieve obsessive itching and flaking of the epidermis.

The most popular masks from the “traditional medicine” category for the treatment of excessive dryness of the scalp are moisturizing ones - they not only normalize the functionality of the sebaceous glands, but also make the hair shiny, strong, “alive,” thick and voluminous.

Onion mask

You need to take a medium-sized onion and grind it into a puree in any way - pass it through a meat grinder (mechanical or electric), use a blender or grate it.

Note:Onion essential oils are irritating to the mucous membranes of the eyes. To avoid this, it is enough to keep the onion in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes before preparing the puree.

Place the prepared puree on clean gauze, folded in several layers, and make a kind of bag. Then you need to rub the scalp with this bag, and rub in the released mass from the gauze until the entire surface of the head has been treated. Next, you need to cover your head with cellophane/polyethylene and wrap it in a towel - you need to stay in this position for 60 minutes.

The last step is to wash off the onion mixture from your head, cleanse your hair with shampoo and rinse it with water adding a few drops of any essential oil. The last point is very important, because it is the essential oils that prevent the aromas of onions from “fragrant”.

Egg yolk mass

Egg yolk is an excellent natural/natural moisturizer, so it is recommended for use in treating even very dry scalp. To prepare a mask based on egg yolk, you need to mix together 50 ml of warm mineral water (ordinary filtered water will do), 20 ml of vodka (or diluted alcohol) and 1 raw yolk. All components of this folk remedy are thoroughly mixed, then beaten with a mixer (1 minute is enough for this process) and applied to the scalp. Moreover, they are not just applied, but thoroughly rubbed in. Then everything follows the classic scheme: cover your head with cellophane/polyethylene, wrap it in a towel and leave the mask on your head for 30 minutes.

Oil mask

If you use cosmetic oils regularly and correctly, you can quickly get rid of excessive dryness of the scalp and restore the beauty of your hair, because oils are the best moisturizers.

Making an oil mask is simple: unrefined vegetable oil is heated in a water bath and rubbed into the roots of the hair. The duration of “wearing” such a mask is 60 minutes; there is no need to cover/warm your head. Then shampoo is applied to dry hair and worked into a strong foam with your hands along with the oil. The resulting foam must be distributed over the entire length of the hair and lightly massage it and the scalp. Only after this can you wash off the mask with shampoo and rinse your hair with a decoction of medicinal plants.

Note:To use the moisturizing mask in question, you can use olive, coconut, grape seed, burdock, jojoba and castor oil.

Oil and honey mask

This product generally has a complex effect on the hair and scalp: the oil perfectly moisturizes, and honey acts as a medicinal component. An oil and honey mask allows you to quickly get rid of obsessive itching due to excessively dry scalp, dandruff and brittle hair.

To prepare such a mask, you need to mix 50 ml of unrefined olive oil and 25 ml of liquid honey. Do not forget to heat the indicated ingredients in a water bath before preparing the product. The duration of the oil-honey mask on the head is 20 minutes, then it is washed off in the same way as described in the previous recipe.

Treatment for excessive dry scalp is always long-term; you need to be patient and not expect instant results. If the process is not started, then the use of moisturizing masks and following the recommendations of specialists on correcting the diet will give positive results within 3 months from the start of treatment. If the process is started, then the duration of therapy will be much longer.

Brittle and dull hair, the desire to scratch your head are characteristic symptoms of a dry scalp. To see if this is really your problem, answer these five questions.

If you answered yes to most of these questions, dryness is most likely an issue for you.

Causes of dryness

“Scalp type is most often an innate characteristic, since hormonal levels and the activity of the sebaceous glands are primarily associated with genetics,” says Ekaterina Turubara, medical expert at Vichy. But sometimes dry scalp can be caused by:

How to solve the problem of dry scalp

If the condition of your scalp leaves much to be desired, it’s time to take action. Sometimes it’s enough just to reconsider your lifestyle and change some habits.

    Include foods rich in healthy fats in your diet: nuts, fatty fish, cheese, vegetable oils, avocados, eggs, red meat.

    Watch your drinking regime - the daily norm is to consume 1.5–2 liters of clean still water.

    Avoid drinking caffeinated drinks as they dehydrate you.

    Eat less sweet and salty foods.

    Skip the hair dryer.

    Consult a trichologist to rule out scalp diseases.

“If the scalp is just dry, then care is not much of a problem. The main thing is to develop the right strategy,” says Ekaterina Turubara.

Choose the right cleanser

Pay attention to sulfate-free shampoos. “Their detergent base is too weak for normal scalps,” explains the Vichy expert. “But for those who suffer from a deficiency, it is quite suitable, since it does not destroy the already unstable hydrolipid film.”

It is good if the shampoo contains ceramides, vitamins B3 or B5, as well as natural oils rich in essential fatty acids.

Use extra hair care

Dandruff and methods for its elimination

In the language of dermatologists and trichologists, dandruff is called “seborrheic dermatitis.” Among the main reasons for its appearance:

Ingredients for dry scalp care

“There are several products to correct dry scalp,” says Ekaterina Turubara. - First of all, shampoos. Their formula should be sulfate-free, with soothing and moisturizing additives ( panthenol, ,allantoin)».

A separate class of products are emollients, something like moisturizing creams adapted for scalp skin. They usually contain a lot of essential fatty acids.

Soothing, softening scalp masks that don't weigh hair down thanks to a lightweight formula based on... light silicones. Silicones evaporate when heated to body temperature, and only a thin protective film of ceramides and oils remains on the scalp, imitating the natural hydrolipid layer.

Sensitive scalp reacts sharply to any changes - care products, nutrition or climate.

It's time to run to the doctor if your head is constantly itching, and even small sores or crusts appear on the skin. This is the stage at which preventive measures (homemade masks and fluid products) are no longer effective. A trichologist will tell you in detail about hair and scalp problems (however, you can also contact your local dermatologist). After the first examination, the doctor may recommend B vitamins or attribute the appearance of itching and redness to a banal allergic reaction. However, among the most common causes of increased sensitivity of the scalp are stress, sunburn, hard or chlorinated water, and frequent use of deep cleansing alkaline shampoo.

Sensitive scalp reacts sharply to any changes - care products, nutrition or climate. The first snow has appeared - we protect our hair and put on a felt hat or a soft French beret. A long trip to Goa – I’m sincerely jealous, but don’t forget about a wide-brimmed straw hat. The doctor says that the reason is dysbacteriosis, so we follow the advice and exclude fried foods, flour and one hundred and fifth tequila from the diet on Friday night. The skin feels tight after washing your hair - we change our product to a pharmacy shampoo from the “color and odorless” line (without dyes and fragrances) or a children’s hair care product. Children's shampoos for delicate hair washing are indeed a little softer than “adult” ones; they contain fewer alkaline compounds.

Shampoos with tar are suitable for those who suffer from oily scalp (it can also be sensitive). Tar helps slightly reduce the functioning of the sebaceous glands. Pay attention to salon mud wraps (dosed pharmaceutical masks based on Dead Sea mud are suitable for economical use). It is enough to do them once or twice every two weeks. By the way, in SPA centers, in five out of five cases, treatment with concentrated ampoule preparations awaits. They are more than effective. But only a specialist has the right to prescribe them.

The main mistake is that we often choose hair care products, when we should pay attention to creams, tonics and masks specifically for the scalp. I do not recommend using vaunted onion masks at home. Hair has the rare ability to tightly absorb any pungent odors. The juice of even a single onion really nourishes the scalp and helps restore hair structure after coloring or perming. But the smell will remain for a long time on the bed linen, hats and shoulder of your loved one. Harmless kefir, sour cream and milk masks are suitable for caring for sensitive scalp. A couple of times a week, pamper your scalp with a kefir-based yeast mask (a piece of dry yeast, a spoonful of melted sugar, kefir). All ingredients will have to be mixed and slightly heated in a water bath (half an hour is enough). This mask is convenient because it can be applied not only to the hair roots, but also along the entire length. Kefir and yeast nourish the skin and also help stop hair loss. You should avoid homemade masks made with alcohol (for example, cognac) or pepper. All oil masks will not work either. Often, ready-made oil masks contain fragrances and dyes. They are contraindicated for sensitive skin. Active ingredients should soothe, reduce itching, have a softening effect and strengthen the protective barrier of the scalp. In skin products, look for zinc, menthol, orange flower extract, and tea tree oil.

Friends on the bath shelf are not luxury new products with a lot of chemical innovations, but 100% natural products. For example, natural coconut oil for hair came to me from the Dominican Republic together with a childhood friend. It looks more like a thick mask. Nourishes and restores hair, helps soothe the scalp after endless experiments - carving and coloring. I like to apply this thick white oil before shampooing, leaving it on my hair for 15-20 minutes. Previously, it seemed to me that my scalp was a little dry, this was especially noticeable in the partings. But regular moisturizing helped. By the way, you don’t have to ask for souvenirs from the Dominican Republic; coconut oil can be found in any soap shop. Among the natural, proven products, there is a convenient massage tile for the scalp from Lush. Peppermint and tea tree oils in its composition cleanse the skin of germs and relieve the uncomfortable feeling of “itch.”

Dry scalp is a fairly common problem, especially in winter. In addition to the appearance of dandruff, itching and unpleasant sensations, excessive dryness of the skin can lead to deterioration of hair condition and hair loss.

Causes

The following factors can cause excessive dryness of the scalp:

  • poor nutrition. Eating fast food, fatty and fried foods, lack of vegetables and fruits in the diet;
  • bad habits such as: smoking, drinking alcohol or drinking large amounts of coffee;
  • sedentary lifestyle, insufficient exposure to fresh air;
  • refusal to wear a headdress in the cold season or in the summer, on hot sunny days. Temperature changes can cause increased dry skin;
  • metabolic disease;
  • changes in hormonal levels during pregnancy, gynecological and endocrine diseases, during menopause;
  • use of incorrectly selected cosmetics for hair care. They may not be suitable for your hair type or contain large amounts of sodium lauryl sulfate;
  • frequent use of hair dryers, hair straighteners or curling irons;
  • frequent hair dyeing or radical changes in hair color;
  • chronic diseases of the digestive system;
  • genetic disposition;
  • food allergies;
  • fungal diseases;
  • chronic stress;
  • various dermatological diseases (psoriasis, ringworm).

Video: Doctor explains

What is seborrhea

Dry seborrhea is a disorder in the production of sebum associated with a change in the secretory function of the glands or the chemical composition of the secretion they secrete.

Also, the cause of the disease can be a change in the consistency of the contents of the sebaceous glands; it becomes more viscous, as a result of which its secretion is impaired. The disease affects people of any age.

The main signs of the disease:

  • the scalp (in some cases the face, upper chest and neck) becomes dry and rough;
  • small cracks appear on the surface;
  • as a result of skin detachment, fine, dust-like dandruff appears, white, silvery or yellowish in color;
  • the skin of the scalp becomes covered with reddish-pink spots;
  • hair becomes thin and brittle;
  • After washing your hair, severe itching appears.

What to do

If your scalp is too dry, dandruff and itching appear, you can try to get rid of it by following these rules:

  • change hair care products. When purchasing, pay special attention to their composition;
  • start eating right;
  • It is worth limiting the exposure of hair to high temperatures. The water for washing your hair should be warm (not hot), and it is better to avoid using a hair dryer and hair straightener;
  • Massage the skin with light movements daily to improve blood circulation.

Eliminating the cause

In order to get rid of the problem, you first need to eliminate the reason why your scalp has become too dry. If these are chronic diseases of the digestive system or changes in hormonal levels, then in this case you need to visit a doctor.

Medicines

The most common cause of dry seborrhea is a fungus, for the treatment of which the following is used:

  • vitamin complexes: Aevit, Neurobeks, nicotinic and ascorbic acid, biotin;
  • products for external use: sulfur ointment 10%;
  • antimycotics: Ketoconazole, Fluconazole, Sporagal. Antifungal tablets are taken if other treatment methods have not given the desired results.

Shampoos

Effective shampoos for dry scalp:

  • antifungal: Dermazol, Nizoral, Sebozol, Keto plus. They are used if the cause of dry scalp is a fungus. Apply a small amount of product to damp hair, foam and leave for five minutes, then rinse with warm water. Treatment may require 3 to 5 such applications;
  • based on birch tar: Algopix, Tar shampoo. The products help fight dry skin, fungus and other pathogenic microorganisms. They are used for washing hair 2 – 3 times a week;
  • emollients: Emolium, Oilatum. Moisturizers that retain moisture on the surface of the skin.

  • It is worth paying attention to professional cosmetics that are designed to restore hair and skin;
  • Moisturizing hair conditioners have a good effect. For people with dry skin, you can add a drop of burdock oil to it;
  • when using oil masks, you need to minimize the use of styling products, otherwise the effect of the treatment will be insufficient;
  • You need to apply oils to the scalp very carefully, separating the hair strands and trying to ensure that the product gets on them in a minimal amount.

Prevention

  • It is necessary to remember that air conditioners, household electrical appliances, and heating systems dry out the air, which in turn deprives the skin of moisture. In order to prevent this, you need to open the window more often and use humidifiers;
  • direct sunlight also negatively affects the scalp, especially in combination with salt water, so you need to wear a Panama hat or headscarf while relaxing;
  • In order to keep your skin elastic and provide it with enough moisture, you need to adhere to proper nutrition. The diet should include raw vegetables and fruits, as well as foods rich in vitamins A, E, D and essential fatty acids;
  • The body should not be dehydrated; to do this, especially in the warm season, you need to drink at least one and a half liters of liquid.

If, despite all the efforts made, the scalp remains dry, the amount of dandruff increases, pustules and crusts appear, you should consult a dermatologist or trichologist.
